Friends and Community
We are perhaps used to the pubs back in the UK which, in many cases, still remain at the heart of their local community - still offering a place where friends can meet and socialise - where people can play, dine, take their kiddies and generally have a bit of relaxing fun.
However, the last thing that you would expect to find 1,000 or so miles away on a holiday island is that special Yorkshire hospitality duplicated in the welcoming atmosphere of a village pub.
I don’t think that anyone can, or ever will, put their finger on the exact reason why so many people are attracted back year after year...
There has to be a special combination of factors - the setting of the bar is one. The Red Rum has been described as being among the top ten best located bars in the world. The position, directly on the sea front with uninterrupted views across to Pollensa and Formentor is staggering. The nearby countryside remains unspoilt with a myriad of walks and cycle tracks.
There are just two hotels close by the Hotel More and the Panoramic fronted by a small beach. A totally relaxing area but close enough for visiting Alcudia and the Puerto,
Whatever this combination of factors is - if only it could be bottled and sent to every pub in the country.........
